Mission:
The Ringling is the State Art Museum of Florida and is administered by Florida State University. It features an historic mansion, art museum, circus museum, historic theater, and reference library, situated on 66 acres of bay front property in Sarasota.

Internship Description:
The intern will work directly The Ringling's Outreach Coordinator to learn various components related to developing educational materials, and leading community outreach programs. As the state art museum of Florida, The Ringling is dedicated to sharing its resources and experience with interns interested in a career in the museum field, and provides insight through hands-on work experience. The intern will be integrated into our current outreach programs through their assisting in, planning, and implementing programs under the supervision of the Outreach Coordinator. The intern will also learn best practices for collaboration with partner organizations.

Intern responsibilities include:
Assist with in-person, off-site outreach programs
Assist with database management of the Education Collection
Research the museum collection for outreach programs
Create marketing copy for outreach programs

Learning Outcomes:
How to collaborate with partner organizations
Research art history
Research art activities for a variety of age groups
Conduct outreach programs with partner organizations
Education program planning
Public speaking skills for a variety of age groups
 
Qualifications:
Intern must have familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, access to transportation, and be comfortable with public speaking.
